Discover New Social Networks using Ning

PREP TIME: 0 Minutes
CREATION TIME: 5-10 Minutes

PURPOSE: Network and connect with like minded people.

SELLING POINT: There are over 1.3 million Ning social networks created.

DIRECTIONS:

1. Go to http://www.ning.com/
2. Click “Sign in” link in the upper right
3. On the “Sign in” page, enter your email address and password
4. Click the “Sign In” button
5. In the center column below “Discover New Social Networks”, enter an area of interest into the search field
6. Click the magnifying glass icon to search
7. On the “Search Results” page, scroll through the list of groups

   NOTE: Scan the network descriptions, find groups that interests you and join them.

8. Click the “Join” link to the right of each group you choose to become a member of

   NOTE: When you click the “Join” link you will be taken to a quick “Sign Up” form where you will need to verify you Ning account info

9. On the “Sign Up” page, enter your email address and password
10. Retype your password and select your birthday
11. Enter the verification code
12. Click the “Sign Up” button
13. On the “Create Your Profile” page, enter your full name
14. Upload a Photo
15. Select your Gender
16. Enter your Age, Country and Zip Code
17. Enter a description about yourself
18. Enter “What you like to do for fun”
19. Enter “ What you do to pay the bills”
20. Enter “A few of your favorite things”
21. Enter groups you “Volunteer with”
22. Click the “Join” button
23. Congrats! You have successfully joined a Ning group
